Daniel is the founding member of the firm. Prior to founding the firm, Daniel became the first attorney in the United States to successfully focus a law practice on diabetes law, successfully changing the landscape for how people with Type 1 Diabetes are accommodated in schools and in the workplace through disability discrimination matters under the Americans with Disabilities Act in United States District Court, and through special education hearings in schools.
Daniel’s practice focuses on Corporate / Finance law, Real Estate law and Entertainment law. Daniel represents small to medium size businesses and 501(c)3 nonprofit corporations in various corporate transactions. Daniel represents businesses of this size in the following areas: all areas of the formation process; partnership and membership agreements; stock and asset acquisitions; all areas of financing including early stage venture capital rounds for emerging companies; IRS 1023 applications to obtain 501(c3) tax exempt status for nonprofit corporations; regulatory compliance matters; joint ventures; as well as representation in various commercial negotiations and agreements.
Daniel represents clients in real estate matters as well, including distressed real estate in both the residential and commercial industries. Daniel represents investors in the entire process of procuring the distressed real estate, including handling the due diligence; the purchase of the distressed note; the foreclosure process to procure the property; any landlord / tenant matters, or eviction matters that may arise; the development of the property; the sale of the property; and everything in between. Daniel also represents both lenders and developers in the financing of both residential and commercial property development projects.
Daniel also represents clients in various entertainment law matters. As a former professional baseball player, Daniel knows the sports and entertainment industry very well. Daniel uses this in-depth knowledge to give clients in the entertainment industry a heightened level of representation in matters involving licensing agreements, nondisclosure agreements, talent releases, performance agreements, and the financing of various entertainment projects. Some notable clients who Daniel has worked with in the entertainment industry include Meredith O’Connor, celebrity pop star and formerly a celebrity youth ambassador to the United Nations, and major record producer, Gary Miller.
